The Village of Summit contracts with an independent firm for assessment services to fill the Appointed Statutory Position of Assessor. Accurate Assessor is the current firm we partner with for property assessment.
The Assessor's main responsibility is to value all real property and update assessments periodically according to state law.
The Assessor field verifies new, razed and altered buildings, provides notice of changed assessments to residents, provides the official assessment roll to Village Clerk, holds annual Open Book inspections, and attends all sessions of the Board of Review.
